You Are a Gift – Advent Reflections

As Advent begins, we’re invited to pause and recognise the gifts within and around us. This week’s theme, “You are a Gift,” reminds us that each person brings something unique to the world.

The Bible readings: Psalm 122 and Matthew 24:36–44

Psalm 122 offers a prayer for peace – shalom – not just for Jerusalem, but for our own communities.

Where do you see glimpses of peace in your neighbourhood?

What small acts can help your area become a place of belonging and hope?

Jerusalem was once a gift for Israel, but Isaiah envisions it as a gift for all people.

Imagine your community as a place where everyone feels welcome – even those who often feel excluded.

How can we help our spaces become places of belonging?

Message: – As we prepare to send “Gifted” thank you cards to our neighbours, let’s pray that these simple gestures touch hearts in meaningful ways. May we cherish our gifts and share them freely, building a neighbourhood where everyone feels valued and loved.
